Large Industrial Gearboxes for the Most Demanding Applications

In April, we manufactured and delivered five large industrial gearboxes for a renowned Slovenian manufacturer of saws for log cutting, designed for operation in the most demanding conditions of the wood-processing industry.

The delivery included

• 2 × bevel gear units, weighing 142 kg, with a Ø70 mm output shaft
• 1 × bevel gear unit, weighing 233 kg, with a Ø90 mm output shaft
• 2 × shaft-mounted gear reducers, weighing 100 kg, with a Ø60 mm output shaft

 

All drives were equipped with IE3 high-efficiency electric motors, with or without a brake, depending on the individual application and the requirements of the working process.

Reliable operation in the most demanding conditions

In the enquiry, the customer specifically emphasised the need for robust and reliable gearboxes for operation in demanding working conditions, together with an exceptionally short delivery time.

Thanks to our own component inventory and fast assembly within the MAC centre, we achieved a very short response time:

• 2 gearboxes were assembled on the same day after receiving the order,
• the remaining 3 gearboxes were assembled within one day after receiving the housings from the Motovario manufacturer’s warehouse.

The gearboxes were prepared for vertical and horizontal mounting and adapted to the specific requirements of the application. Due to the demanding operating conditions, the customer also selected a higher service factor, i.e. drive oversizing, which provides greater operating reliability, a longer service life and additional operational safety for the system.

 

Quality oil for a long service life

Before delivery, all gearboxes were filled with high-quality oil from the German manufacturer Addinol – Gear Oil 220 F, which is intended for demanding industrial applications and heavily loaded gear transmissions. The oil has also been tested and approved by Motovario.
